the reclamation project

a collection of handcrafted paper works made from torn, ruined portfolio pieces and ancient scraps. the series is full of kitschy, nostalgic, and ornate aesthetics, with bright, cluttered elements cascading across vintage pages, mounted on antique book covers. I played a lot more with décollage than I have before, to expose previous layers of paper; distressed, delicate, velvety edges, with a glimpse of what lies beneath.

I finished each piece by applying fine-grained sandpaper across the luscious, glossy, brittle fragments, to create an impression of crumbling glamour; echoes of memories, moments lost to time... beauty suffused with an air of soft decay.
